CROCHET -- crop top tutorial : easy !!!! ENGLISH PATTERN

MY CROCHET CROP TOP TUTORIAL

Material

⦁ for this project, I used 3 balls of * cotton elite , Ice Yarns ( about 320 meters )
⦁ a 3mm hook ( US SIZE )

Pattern

You need to know how to :
⦁ single crochet
⦁ half-double crochet
⦁ puff stitch
⦁ slip stitch

First step

 you will have to calculate your size.
Put your back  to the wall and note the measure you got from one shoulder to the other one ( in my case : 41 cms  -> 16.14 inches ).
*the pattern is a multiple of 17 stitches.
*1 motif  = 6 cm( or 2.3 inches)

How I calculate my size :
* 41 cm (16.14 inches )  X  17 stitches
----------------------------------------- = 116 chains
  6 cm


*    116 chains
-------------------   = 6.82 times
     17 stitches
I casted on 119 chains instead of 116 , to have 7 sequences of the pattern.

1. Note, that our work get looser ( about 2 extra cm , 0.78 inches ).
2. I must warn you, we will work from the left to the right, or from the right to the left !!!
3. we will crochet two identical rectangles that we will sew together later...

Second step 

1st row:
Cast on 119 chains + 2 extra chains to turn( or the number of stiches you need foryour size ) never forget to count a multiple of 17 stitches !!)
2nd row :
one half-double crochet in each foundation chain of the previous row + 3 extra chains to turn
3r row :
make 1 puff stitch on top of  the first half-double crochet of the previous row,
 make a 2nd puff stitch on top of the 2nd half-double crochet of the previous row,
 chain 15 chains , and pick your crochet hook on top of the 18th half-double crochet of the previous row
 YOUR FIRST SEQUENCE IS MADE !
( we will repeat this sequence 6 more  times )
make 1 puff on top of the 18th half-double crochet of the previous row,
make a 2nd puff sticht on top of the 19th half-double crochet of the previous row,
chain 15 ...... repeat the pattern..
End the row, by making 2 puff stitches on top of the last half double crohet of the previous row + 3 extra chains to turn.
4th row:
make two puff stitches ( pick you hook in the space between the puff stitches of the previous row )
chain 15
2 puff stitches in the space between the puff stitches of the last row ... and so one until you reach the end of the row
End this row, by making to puff stitches in the space between the 2 puff stitches of the previous row + 3 extra chains to turn
5th row and the next:
Repeat  the 4th row until you get your desire length.
In my case the length correponds to 70 puff stitches.

Last 2 rows :
Now that you reached your desire length, ( 70 puff stitches ) we will create the final border.
chain 1, turn your work, make one single crochet on top the 1st puff of the last row,
make a  single crochet on thop of the 2nd puff of the previous row,
chain 15, make one single on the top of each puff stitch and 15 chains.. + 2 extra chains to turn.
make one half-double crochet on the top of each single crochet of the previous row.
Normally , you count 119 stitches.

Third step 
make a second identical rectangle

Fourth step 

put the two rectangles together .
(puff stitch side with the other part / half-double crochet with half-double crochet )
we will join them, by making slip stitches all along the foundation rows , don't forget to leave space for the arm. ( you make slip stitch until the end of the 4th sequence of the pattern, then cut off. and make 2 slip stitches at the end .)
make 1 extra chain to corner and slip stich
for the shoulders:   where there are  3 chains, make 3 single crochet, one slip stitch , between the puff stitches, 3 chains, 1 slip stitch between the follofin puff stitches, 3 single crochet where there are 3 chains... until you  joined 15 puff stitches. cut  off , leave space for the neck. continue along the 15 th last stitches.

finally done !!!!
